Hey y'all!  I'm getting ready to be heading off to LONDON soon to work on my Master's!  Super excited!

I have a bunch of makeup posts that are about to happen, but first we're going to start with the July Ipsy Glam Bag that came in the mail yesterday!

In a rare feat, I got everything in the bag that I actually wanted!  The NEON PINK (my favorite color of the summer!) bag divulged these goodies: bhcosmetics California Collection eyeshadow trio, bigsexyhair weather proof spray, Coola mineral sunscreen tinted moisturizer in rose essence, pop pouty pop crayon in fuchsia flirt, and demeter salt air roll on perfume oil.

So much pink!  Happily it matches my neon pink shorts that I got at the JCrew outlet for $8!

The contents!

Honestly, Malibu is the best color.  Hollywood is very sheer and San Francisco is very similar to the millions of other brown shades I own.  I haven't swatched them over primer, but I'm hoping it'll give Hollywood the extra oomph it needs!

Coola tinted moisturizer.  It's VERY yellow.. and it makes my super pale skin look very strange.  There's a tiny bit of sparkle to it.  I'm surprised they first list it as a sunscreen over a tinted moisturizer since it only has spf 20, but I guess that's better than nothing.  Not my favorite, but glad I got to try it!

I was PRAYING for the pink or the coral color, because I've been really tired of getting nude colored products in my ipsy bag.  I selected that I'm not afraid of color in my quiz!  I got what I asked for, but unfortunately it's a product that does not work for me.

In the swatch it looks great, it's a pretty pink color.  However, it has a white-base, and the texture is very oily.  It grabbed on to minor dry bits of my lip that look fine with other lipsticks, and made it look like I had been crawling around in the desert for the past week.  The oily texture settled into all the ridges of my lips and looked dreadful.

I will not be using this product again, which is a shame since I was the most excited for it!  I was expecting it to have a jelly-finish, like the Revlon Just Bitten balm stains.  Alas, I was seriously disappointed :(

As for the Big Sexy Hair weather proof spray, I haven't really tried it yet.  I'm hoping it works because in the ongoing war between my hair vs. humidity, mother nature has been winning all the battles.  Total puff-head.  The perfume, which I was a little worried about, smells FANTASTIC.  It's nice, fresh and light.  I wish it lasted a little longer, but it is definitely going in my purse for the summer!

All in all, I'm pleased with this bag!  Some of the products didn't work well for me, but I'm glad that I got to try them!

Ipsy's glam bag costs $10/month, no shipping.  To subscribe, feel free to use my referral link, here:

Springtime

Long time, no see!  I've been terrible about updating this thing, but I'm hoping that soon I'll change that around and actually give this block the attention it deserves!

Latest obsession: watches.  I haven't had a proper watch since my senior year of college.  In June of 2011, I wore my cheapie, $25 timex from Century 21 to Crete, where the battery promptly died.  I would have replaced the battery, but the leather band was beginning to fall apart anyway, and I opted not to have it repaired.  Now, however, I'm craving watches like there's no tomorrow.  There are 3 on my "Longings" list, with this Kate Spade beauty being my current favorite:

Kate Spade "Metro" watch - $195
There's just something about it.  I almost always prefer gold to silver, and leather bands to metal or plastic.  While I usually go for brown colored leather, the "bazooka pink" band brings a smile to my face and a flutter to my heart.  All I hear when I look at it is "Think Pink!" from Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire.  This watch makes me want to think in pink all summer long.  However, at close to $200, it is more than I would ever pay for a watch on my own.  Why are there no gifting holidays in the summer?!?

Sweater Porn

Autumn is by far my favorite season, primarily because it is sweater season.  However, most of my sweaters are showing their age, and I've been drooling over replacements for quite some time.  Unfortunately, being a poor post-bac student does not afford me the ability to purchase 3 sweaters at $88 a pop from JCrew.com, but that doesn't mean I have to stop salivating at them anytime soon.

J.Crew Cambridge Cable Crewneck Sweater

Other clothing-related things I adore about autumn:  I can wear oxfords every day, blazers become acceptable, and I can bust out my beloved muted jewel-tones.

Other items I will continue to salivate over but never own:

Chie Mihara Quiri Grape Heels
$400 shoes?!  That's more than 6 months of my car insurance costs, but a girl can dream!

Any items y'all are lusting after?

Last Week

Sorry for the lack of updates!  With Hurricane Sandy hitting us, and the fact that I'm from NJ and the majority of my family and friends are spread throughout New Jersey, NYC and Long Island, I was focusing on making sure everyone at home was safe and sound.

So last week I went to Koreana in West Philly with my friend Kelsey for lunch.  It was my first time getting Korean food, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect.  Let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS.  I ordered (based on Kelsey's recommendation) a traditional Bibim Bap, which is served in hot stone bowl.  It had rice, sprouts, carrots, greens, beef and a fried egg on it.  Then you pour delicious red spicy sauce on to taste and stir it up.  You have to be careful not to burn yourself on the bowl, but the way the bowl toasts and crisps up the rice on the bottom is the BEST!  SO DELICIOUS.

First time having Korean food! @Koreana in Philadelphia
I also am a sucker for bubble tea, particularly when it is Thai iced tea with bubbles, so I caved and ordered one.  The cup it came in had adorable boy and girl elephants on it!  I almost wish I had saved it!
How cute is this cup?  I love bubble tea!

When I went to Red Bank before the storm, my best friend and I went to the riverside park next to her apartment.  If you can't read it, it says, "The sun is up The sky is blue.  It's beautiful And so are you" which are some lyrics from Dear Prudence, by the Beatles. <3 p="p">

Yesterday's Ensemble!

This was the outfit I wore yesterday when I actually went out and ran errands.  Not pictured is the GORGEOUS green coat I got at the consignment store this past weekend!  I'll have to post images soon!

Shirt: Anthropologie
Oxfords: Wanted Shoes
Jeans: Liverpool Jeans Co.
I did grown-up things yesterday!  I paid off my first parking ticket ever (grr), gave in and ordered new sheets (and I had a 15% off coupon plus free shipping which saved me something like $30!!!), and ordered a hair straightener on Amazon ($38 marked down from $200?!) because my old one won't be unearthed any time soon.  I also went to the grocery store, and bought a bag of full-sized snickers bars... so clearly I still have some growing to do... *ahem*

Anyway, tonight is date night.....  and I'm starting to get nervous.  At least he picked a bar that is 3 blocks from my apartment, so if the night goes poorly I can go home and continue marathoning 30 Rock.  That actually seems like something Liz Lemon would do.... hmm.  So does buying a bag of full-sized snickers.

Beginnings

Well HELLO there!

I'm entering the blog-o-sphere.  Here at Muntzie, I'll be reviewing products, design ideas, DIY projects,  and anything else I see fit about being a 23 year old starting a fresh chapter of my life in a lively city.

Today's the last day of my Fall Break, and instead of studying for my French test tomorrow* I've built a bookshelf, and am trying to organize my life a little while watching Mean Girls.  Tina Fey is a genius.

Goals for this evening include finishing cleaning my apartment, composing a witty reply to the guy who has asked me out for a drink on Friday, and watching more 30 Rock.

Clearly today has been a success.

*I do not recommend this.
